rhamphotheca: jardinbotanicolamanigua: Araña lanzadora de tela Net-casting spider (Deinopis sp.) On my first night hike earlier this week, we didnt see alot of vertebrates, but the spider diversity was sort of daunting and impressive. This is one of the Net casting spiders (family Deinopidae) aka Ogre spiders, holding its net web in anticipation of prey. This family is known to prey often on other spiders. We saw several of them on our hike that night.
